Aims of the One-Day Course
This course is suitable for first time users who wish to learn the basic
skills needed to create illustrations and text effects using Freehand. This course is 100% hands-on, with exercises to practice the
new skills as you learn them.

- Using the Drawing Tools (Pencil; Segments; Curves &
Curve Points; Connector Points)
- Editing Paths (Repositioning, Converting, Removing, Adding
& Deleting Segments, Paths, Points & Handles)
- Creating Objects (Page Rulers; Rectangles; Ellipses; Polygons
& Stars)
- Object Editing Techniques (Adding, Manipulating & Removing
Points; Freeform Tool; Grouping & Ungrouping Objects)

- Fill and Stroke Attributes
- Choosing Colours (specify Web-safe colours, process colours,
custom spot colours & gradients)
- Applying Fills to Objects & Paths (Gradients, Tiled,
Textured & Lens)
- Using the Stroke Inspector Panel

Prerequisites
No previous experience of using Freehand is necessary, although keyboard
and mouse experience is assumed. Familiarity with the use of Windows or
Mac software is essential.
Course Duration
Six hours (9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.30pm)
